Gambling - DCMS Consultation on Society Lottery Reform

On Friday 29th June the DCMS launched a consultation on Society Lottery Reform which will run until 11:45pm on 7th September 2018.
The consultation explores a number of proposals including raising the annual limit of society lottery sales from £10m to £100m a year and increasing the maximum prize from £400,000 to £500,000.
The DCMS are consulting on options in the following four areas:
- Large society lotteries: Individual per draw sales limits; (currently limited to £4m, the Government’s preferred option is to raise this to £5m)
- Large society lotteries: Individual per draw prize limits; (currently limited to £400k, the Government’s preferred option is to raise this to £500k)
- Large society lotteries: Annual sales limits; (currently limited to £10m, the Government’s preferred option is to raise this to £100m)
- Small society lotteries: Individual per draw and annual sales limits.(currently limited to £20k and 250k respectively, the Government’s has not indicated a preferred option)
